TAFF VALE PARK GREYHOUND STADIUM
This site is not an official website for the track shown here and is neither approved or endorsed by the stadium. I am indebted to Richard English for helping to construct this page. |
The greyhound track was situated in the Welsh town of Pontypridd and opened in 1928. The track was situated on Nile Street at 3° 19' W 51° 35' N and had been used by the local rugby club. By 1929 the track, like many others in the UK, was shared with the local speedway team. By 1932 the track had closed, although the town did get a new track called the Hawthorn Stadium, on School Lane. |
The site on which the former Taff Vale Park track once stood is now used for rugby once again. |
This section gives a comprehensive picture of
the badges produced by the track throughout the ages, but only provides the briefest of
glimpses of its history. For those wishing to undertake further research we can recommend
a visit to http://astore.amazon.co.uk/wwwgreyhoundd-21 where further reading can be undertaken. |
